Our Company grows by turning on the lights “one village at a time.” We invite you to share our journey by clicking on the Village Icons below to view profiles and photos of each rural community we serve.

Malolo – Mini-Grid Biomass Test Site

village At Malolo we installed and tested the Husk Power Systems biomass technology. The test was successful! The Husk System will be integrated into the hybrid (biomass/solar PV) systems for our initial group of off-grid, village-scale electrification projects. Our first Utility-Scale solar/biomass facility will also be installed near the village of Malolo.

Zombo – Hybrid Mini-Grid Biomass/Solar PV Project

village Zombo will be our first operational village level, green energy project and represents the start of our planned program to electrify up to 100 off-grid, rural communities in the Kilosa District.
grants-eep Partial funding for the project was supplied by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the Austrian Development Agency and the UK Department for International Development under the provisions of a grant awarded to the Company by the Energy and Environmental Partnership for Southern and Eastern Africa.

Mahenge – Utility-Scale Hydropower Project

utility Mahenge is the village where we expect to install our first Utility-Scale, grid-connected hydropower project on the Lower Lukosi River. This will be one of the anchor components for the 40 MW portfolio of hydropower facilities Ruaha intends to develop. When completed, this hydropower project is expected to deliver over 6 megawatts of renewable, green energy directly to the national power grid.
grants-rea Partial funding for the feasibility study for this project was supplied by the Tanzanian Rural Energy Agency (REA) under a World Bank sponsored Tanzania Energy Development and Access Project (TEDAP) matching grant.

Ruaha Headquarters – New Workshop Facilities

icon-company Our project sites are all located in remote rural villages across the Kilosa District in Tanzania and our field teams and village level staff are working hard to bring our projects online. To aid in those efforts, our in house construction team recently completed a new workshop facility to support our people in the field and improve our capabilities across the region.
