Utility-Scale Projects

Our “grid-connected” projects deliver renewable, green energy directly to the national power grid. We invite you to share our journey by clicking on the Utility Icons below to view profiles and photos of each of our Utility Scale facilities.

Mahenge – Utility-Scale Hydropower Project

utility Mahenge is the village where we expect to install our first Utility-Scale, grid-connected hydropower project, on the Lower Lukosi River. This will be one of the anchor components for the 40 MW portfolio of hydropower facilities, Ruaha intends to develop. When completed, this hydropower project is expected to deliver over 6 megawatts of renewable, green energy directly to the national power grid.
grants-rea Partial funding for the feasibility study for this project was supplied by the Tanzanian Rural Energy Agency (REA), under a World Bank sponsored Tanzania Energy Development and Access Project (TEDAP) matching grant.

Malolo – Utility-Scale Solar Project

utility Malolo is also the village where we expect to install our first Utility-Scale, grid-connected solar farm. This will be one of the anchor components for the 40 MW portfolio of planned solar/biomass facilities Ruaha intends to develop in partnership with the Kilosa District Council. When completed, the solar farm is expected to deliver 1 MW of renewable, green energy directly to the national power grid.
